The project is a reflection on the potential ways to bridge the gap between humans and technology.
Back in the last century, Gilbert Simondon highlighted the issue of alienation from technology and the numerous unpleasant consequences resulting from it. In our time, this question becomes especially acute.
One of the ways to overcome this alienation is an attempt to "animate" technology and evoke empathy toward it. This can reduce the fear of machines and spark curiosity.
Our project is dedicated to this: evoking empathy and encouraging viewers to explore complex technical structures.
We investigate whether it is possible to experience empathy toward technology and whether this will help viewers become interested in its inner workings.
The robotic arm tries to escape from the routine world into the world behind the glass, which appears brighter and more appealing. Will the viewer feel a desire to help the robotic arm? Will they contemplate the similarity of their challenges?
